Bowen Rail Company delivers a world-class in-house traineeship program. We knew that the industry talent pool wasn’t going to be able to provide the drivers needed to operate our full complement of trains, so we had to think differently and create new opportunities and mechanisms to open doors for local people to work for Bowen Rail.

What we do

BRC is building a team of traincrew to support its daily operations hauling high quality Queensland coal from the Carmichael Mine to the North Queensland Export Terminal. Four trains will run on the network each day and one round trip from the Carmichael Mine to the North Queensland Export Terminal will take 23 hours including loading and unloading time.

We are a safe and accredited rail operator and we operate under a Rail Safety Management system which guides and supports the management of any incidents, safety interactions or hazards on our rail network.
