Bowen Rail Company’s state-of-the-art locomotives use enhanced safety and efficiency tools, making them the most technologically advanced train engines in use in Australia.
Our US-made Progress Rail EMD® GT46C-ACe Gen III are more fuel-efficient than the standard trains currently in operation across the Bowen Basin. Part of a global energy solution
At Bowen Rail Company, we move high-quality coal from the Galilee Basin to the North Queensland Export Terminal. This allows for the export of Queensland resources to the world and provides valuable royalties revenue to the State to pay for services like roads, hospitals, and schools.
Our foundation customer is Bravus Mining and Resources. Its high-quality thermal coal has a role to play alongside renewables in the transition to a lower-carbon future, by replacing higher-emission and high-ash coal or biofuels. Further, the resources provide affordable and reliable energy for electricity, often in developing nations.
